Job Description and Responsibilities:
Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS is looking for a researcher interested in Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models to join the Intelligent Systems Group.
The job offer is focused on the following tasks:
Implement Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) techniques for specific sensitive domains.
Research and develop agentic AI use-cases.
Research and develop text processing methods for information extraction, exploring NLP and LLMs.
Research and develop Responsible AI methodologies related to the validation of LLMs and agentic AI results validation and robustness assessment.
Employ and develop best practices of professional data science and machine learning.
Write comprehensive reports on approaches tested and results obtained.
Share your knowledge with others by giving talks and preparing research proposals, project deliverables, and scientific papers.
Academic Qualifications:
Academic Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or similar.
Requirements:
Excellent Python programming skills.
Background knowledge in Machine Learning, NLP and LLMs.
Expertise in programming with widespread AI Frameworks (e.g., Sklearn, TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch).
Excellent Portuguese and English communication skills (spoken and written).
