In 2022 the establishment of Rethink Aqua Portugal marked a new chapter in the group’s evolution – a decisive step towards greater organisational alignment, strategic focus and global reach. This initiative enhances the group’s capacity to undertake larger EPC projects and to forge strategic partnerships that advance the frontiers of sustainable aquaculture and water management worldwide.
Since 1990 multiple specialised Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) companies within the water treatment sector have been established by the Founder & acting CEO, with a footprint spanning Denmark, Germany, Norway, Uganda, Costa Rica and Portugal.
From the outset the group has been built on a pioneering mindset – uniting engineering expertise, creativity and environmental responsibility to deliver cutting-edge water treatment solutions for aquaculture, industry and the public sector. Each business unit operates with the shared purpose of turning challenges into opportunities through innovation, precision engineering and a steadfast commitment to sustainability.
Guided by the founder spirit and a deep-rooted belief in continuous improvement, the group stands at the forefront of the green transition. Its work encompasses intake, discharge and water reuse processes, addressing biosecurity and micropollutants, and ultimately implementing Minimum to Zero Liquid Discharge (MLD/ZLD) systems. These are comprehensive solutions that safeguard water resources and reduce emissions in line with SDG, GRI, IED and BAT-AEL frameworks. In doing so, the group helps unlock access to green and resilience funding, empowering its clients to meet tomorrow’s standards today.
